No Bake Recipes for Kids


These desert recipes are perfect for kids to make who are just learning to cook and measure!


Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

 
1 stick butter
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
3 cups quick oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Combine butter, cocoa, sugar and milk in a large saucepan. Stir well. Simmer on stove with low heat until bubbles form around the edge of the saucepan, and mixture appears smoothly blended. Remove from heat, making sure to use hot pad or ask for help from Mom.

Add peanut butter and vanilla. Mix well. Then add the quick oats and stir thoroughly.

Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Use a large spoon to scoop out cookie dough and place the drops on waxed paper. Chill in the refrigerator until hardened.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie Recipe

 
1 package chocolate chip cookies
1 cup milk
1 graham cracker pie crust (9-ounce)
1 large tub of cool whip or your favorite whipped topping

Dip 8 cookies in milk and place in a single layer in the graham cracker pie crust. Top with a layer of whipped topping.

Dip 8 more cookies in milk and place on top of pie - spread a layer of whipped topping. Repeat layers with 8 more cookies, milk and whipped topping.

Crumble 2 chocolate chip cookies and sprinkle over pie. Cover cookie pie and chill 8 hours before serving.

Snow Ball Cookies

1 package shortbread cookies - crushed
1 cup flaked coconut
2/3 cup sifted powdered sugar
1/2 cup thawed, frozen orange or lemonade
Sifted powdered sugar for coating

Mix cookie crumbs, coconut and 2/3 cup powdered sugar in a large bowl. Stir in orange or lemon juice concentrate - mix well. Roll cookie dough into balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar to make them into snowballs!
